Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 31 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See
8. Luke's Scarred Hand
When Rey hands the iconic lightsaber to Luke at the start of the movie, those who pay close attention to the top of Luke's robotic hand will notice a significant scorch mark.
Luke received this injury during Return of the Jedi, when he was hit by blaster fire during the Jabba assault at the start of the movie.
It's interesting that Luke never bothered to get the damage fixed in the decades since Return, though perhaps he likes to keep the reminder around. After all, there's gotta be a reason he never got his hand upgraded, right?
7. Binary Sunset
In a moment of terrific visual and thematic poetry George Lucas himself would be proud of, The Last Jedi concludes with Luke Skywalker transforming into a Force ghost and leaving the physical plain of existence, while staring at two beautiful twin suns.
This perfectly mirrors an early scene from A New Hope, where Luke stares at the binary sunset on Tatooine, bringing the character full circle in a visually enticing manner.
Though the franchise is often accused of being too heavy-handed with its nostalgic nods to the past, this one worked incredibly well.
