Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 31 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See
18. The Boy
Few fans could've seen The Last Jedi's final scene coming: a stable boy on Canto Bight, who earlier helped Finn and Rose escape the First Order, is seen using the Force to grab a broom, before he stares up at the stars in wonder.
It's hard not to see this scene and think of Luke staring longingly at the twin suns on Tatooine in A New Hope. Though it doesn't have near the same emotional impact, it's still a fun way for Rian Johnson to reference the pervasiveness of the Force across the galaxy.
17. Darth Sidious
Though the new trilogy of Star Wars movies is being pretty careful about only casually referencing the controversial prequel trilogy, Luke Skywalker did nevertheless namedrop Darth Sidious in one scene.
This is of course the first time Palpatine has been referred to by that name in a post-Revenge of the Sith movie, and the first time Luke has ever uttered it.
Given that, for better and worse, the prequels are a major part of the series' lineage, it's nice to see a few harmless references to them every now and then.
