Rian Johnson has a couple of different cameos in the movie, with the first being the gloved hand we see pulling the golden dice down from the Falcon's cockpit (as he says, "just ruining the magic here").

He wrote the whole bit with the dice when there was still a scene in The Force Awakens where Han comes into the Falcon and pulls the dice out of his pocket and hangs them up. That didn't end up making the movie, but he didn't know that when writing. Instead it became a more obscure callback to A New Hope and Han, and obviously more important by the end of the film. For Luke's time on the Falcon, they also found the original plate of Carrie Fisher doing the hologram for the original Star Wars and were able to use that.

Johnson later has another cameo as the jerk alien on Canto Bight.
