Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Predicting The Plot In 10 Steps
3. Poe, Finn And Luke Follow, Luke Is Captured
Luke discovers that Rey is missing, and instantly, he knows where she has gone. He remembers that look of temptation on her face from earlier on, and he rushes off, desperate to stop her falling prey to Snoke's scheming, as Ben Solo did.
If Luke stops Rey from turning, this will be the 'redemption' he is seeking.
With Poe and Finn in tow, he heads back to the First Order facility. Luke isn't messing about this time; he kills Stormtroopers left, right and centre, showing no mercy, blasting through every single obstacle in his path. Poe and Finn pick off any stragglers - but Luke doesn't leave them many.
They eventually reach the room from the earlier scene. Luke enters, alone, while Poe and Finn head in from a different angle, so they can spring a surprise attack if necessary.
Luke's greeted by Rey, who's standing opposite him, facing him, lightsaber in hand. The one condition that Snoke and Kylo Ren requested of her was a show of loyalty; face Luke Skywalker in battle, and prove yourself to your new mentors.
However, Luke refuses to fight. He knows that if he engages Rey in a duel and she attacks him willingly, she's given herself over to Snoke, and Luke doesn't want that. He allows himself to be captured, in an attempt to save Rey from herself.
