Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer - 10 Things We Want To See

The marketing for The Force Awakens was as much about what wasn't shown as what was, with the ongoing absence of Luke Skywalker generating a lot of discussion, leading to numerous outlandish theories about his role in the movie (He's a Force Ghost! He's gone to the Dark Side! He's Kylo Ren!?).

Even though this tended to ignore the fact that we did literally see him at one point (well, his hand at least), the trailers for The Last Jedi are far more likely to put Luke front-and-centre. Now that his location and appearance has been revealed, it can utilise him far more.

It's easy to imagine Luke being saved for the end of the trailer, mirroring his reveal in The Force Awakens, which would be a great way of capping things off. However, since he's out in the open, they could have him appear more frequently, especially as it'd be hard to show Rey (and not to mention Artoo!) without him. We could see scenes of them together on Ahch-To (especially since we've already seen some of Rey's new look, which they can show-off more of now along with her advancing Jedi skills), and perhaps even in the Falcon (again, it's an iconic Star Wars image, so we should at least see the Falcon in flight).

Most of all, though, just imagine the sheer thrill at the first shot of the trailer being Luke Skywalker. You wouldn't even need anything else.
