8. The First Order And The Resistance

The First Order and the Resistance are the two warring factions of the galaxy at present, though it's not fully clear just what state either is in after the Assault on Starkiller Base.

It'd be interesting to see a glimpse of both sides in the trailer, especially something similar to the establishing First Order shot from the Force Awakens teaser that indicates the numbers they have. While the Resistance is smaller, they could show us their base, which allows for a number of familiar characters to appear too.

Showing both of them in the trailer makes for an easy win for the Lucasfilm marketing team, because Stormtroopers and X-wings - key aspects of the groups respectively - are instantly recognisable and beloved elements of Star Wars iconography. Seeing the slightly tweaked Stormtrooper uniforms, and some X-wings in action, makes for a great hype builder.
