With the movie likely to 'rhyme' with The Empire Strikes Back to some degree (if not as much as The Force Awakens did with A New Hope), this appears to be The Last Jedi's take on The Battle of Hoth.

This is actually a new planet for the movie, revealed by Rian Johnson to be called Crait. It's a remote mineral planet, and the white surface we see is salt.

It'll serve as a former Rebel base, and the Resistance show up to deal with a major threat, with the location playing a key part in the movie.

Looming on the horizon you can see some AT-AT-esque walkers. These are a much bigger version than the ones we've seen on-screen previously though, described as 'gorilla walkers' and known officially as AT-4Xs. There appears to be a lot of them too, meaning this should be a big battle scene.
