7. Red Tails

Sticking with Crait, the red smoke-like substance that appears to be coming from the backs of these new ships - described by Johnson as "skimmers" - makes for some wonderfully evocative imagery.

However, the red is actually coming from the surface of Crait. Johnson has said that the planet is "red, ruby-ish", and you can make out the ships digging into the planet's terrain, thus dragging up the trailers of red in a bid to obscure the vision of the walkers.

It's hard not to see this and think it's an Easter egg to George Lucas, given he worked on bringing the movie Red Tails to screen for almost a quarter-of-a-century.
