Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker - 10 Reasons To Be Worried

1. The "End" Of The Skywalker Saga

To paraphrase Luke's dialogue in the teaser trailer, Hollywood franchises will always be with us. No franchise is ever really gone.

The marketing for The Rise of Skywalker overwhelmingly touts this as the end of the saga. Seriously, try to find one trailer or TV spot that doesn't say "The Saga" or "The Story of a Generation Comes to an End."

It's being on the promise of this being the end... but is it, though?

Star Wars itself might not be wrapping, but is it even the end of the Skywalker Saga? The series had already ended before with Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith, and many other franchises have ended...but not really.

Indiana Jones. The Terminator. Alien. Harry Potter. Lord of the Rings. Every horror franchise ever made. All of them "ended" at one point, but they didn't stay that way.

Hollywood is a business that thrives on nostalgia and franchises rather than originality these days, and unless they stop making money, nothing truly ends, and certainly not something as big as Star Wars.

Everything's being wrapped up for the big finale... just like in Return of the Jedi.

Don't be surprised to see Rey, Finn, and Poe again on Disney+ in about a decade.
