Critic Consensus: "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones benefits from an increased emphasis on thrilling action, although they're once again undercut by ponderous plot points and underdeveloped characters."

Surprisingly Attack of the Clones is not considered a rotten film on Rotten Tomatoes, despite the fans' disdain towards the film. The film is set 10 years after The Phantom Menace and focuses on the galaxy on the brink of a civil war, leading into the highly popular Clone Wars animated series.

While Attack of the Clones is often bogged down in exposition and some awkward scenes between Anakin and Padmé, the film also features improvements from the Phantom Menace. This includes the creation of the clone army, the brilliant performance of Christopher Lee as Count Dooku, and the real beginning of Anakin's turn to the dark side (the scene where Anakin slays Tusken Raiders and recalls the tale to Padmé is haunting).

This film also gave fans their first opportunity to see Yoda in action during his prime, with the wise Jedi showcasing why he was such a highly respected Jedi during his duel with Count Dooku. While Attack of the Clones is bogged down in criticism, it does have its highlights.
