7. Return Of The Jedi: Ewoks Versus Stormtroopers
The last chapter of the original trilogy is seen by many fans as the weakest of the three, which is true but also slightly unfair. There are still some saga-defining moments in here, like the opening at Jabba’s Palace or the final duel between Vader and Luke.
However, the detractors are not entirely wrong, as Return does also have some lesser aspects - the Ewoks perhaps being chief among them.
It’s a running joke among Star Wars fans that stormtrooper armour is completely useless, able to stop about as much hitting you as a suit made of cardboard would, and this scene where the Ewoks save Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and their Rebellion friends from capture by the Empire doesn't help to stifle any mockery.
The whole battle essentially plays out like one extended joke, with the Ewoks screaming and hollering as the Imperials shriek helplessly and get clubbed to death by nothing more than sharpened rocks on sticks.
How exactly did the Empire manage to subjugate independent planets across the galaxy with this sort of incompetent fighting force?
