Star Wars: The WORST Scene In Every Skywalker Saga Film

2. The Last Jedi: Canto Bight's Prison Break

This is obviously going to be the most controversial entry here. Most Star Wars fans will agree that The Last Jedi is a flawed movie. Where they will likely disagree is regarding just how flawed it is.

And where they will agree again for one final time is that the Canto Bight sequence is one of the weakest parts of the film.

There are some fun ideas being put forward in this setting, with the colourful alien inhabitants of the casino clearly meant to be a spin on the Mos Eisley cantina from A New Hope.

But there's just a lot of wasted opportunity all around, specifically in the prison break scene. Firstly, Finn and Rose escape from their cell just by having their cellmate conveniently be a hacker who simply "hacks" the lock and strolls on out. Then BB-8 has somehow made it down to the prison level and defeats all of the guards for them. And then the slave children of the planet free the beasts for them which they ride to the hacker's awaiting ship.

It just drives home how passive Finn and Rose are in this sequence and, by extension, the whole movie. They rarely get to make their own choices about anything and are moved along by plot convenience rather than actual decisions informed by their personal philosophies.

Owen Davies hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
