Stargate SG-1 Cast: Where Are They Now?

12. Carmen Argenziano

Stargate Jacob Carter

The Italian American Carmen Argenziano is of course best remembered as Jacob Carter/Selmak, the initially disapproving father of Samantha Carter, who goes on to become one of the SGC's most valued allies and liaisons with the Tok'ra. He appeared across the second to eighth seasons of Stargate SG-1, usually offering the stern voice of reason (though it is often overruled by the silly voice of O'Neill).

Argenziano appeared in such films as The Godfather Part II (no biggie) and Angels & Demons. He also appeared in the first season of medical drama ER, along with appearances in dozens of other television shows and movies.

He was a liftetime member of the world-renowned Actors Studio, until his death in February 2019. He is survived by his wife and two children.
