Stephen King's It's Second Trailer Is Just As Terrifying

All the nope.

If you're of the very specific generation of kids who grew up hating clowns because of Tim Curry's iconic performance as Pennywise in the original adaptation of Stephen King's It, you could be forgiven for sneering at the idea of someone else playing the character with as much impact. But it's beginning to look more and more like Bill Skarsgard's take on the killer clown demon might well stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Curry's.

The upcoming film remake of It has just seen its second trailer released thanks to the MTV movie awards, and it's safe to say that the scare factor is definitely being delivered on.

The best thing here - aside from the very genuine sense of terror - is that Andrés Muschietti's adaptation is heavily channelling that tangible Stephen King nostalgic feel (which feels almost Amblin-like and which heavily influenced Stranger Things last year). If they pull that off as well as it looks, they'll be well on the road to success.

And while Tim Curry's performance was excellent, the original TV adaptation was not the definitive take some might suggest - it had some pretty big issues and there's definitely room for another more successful take on the story. As long as it's as scary as it already looks and it copes with the silly ending, we're all in for a treat.
