Steven Spielberg Wants To Direct Chris Pratt As Indiana Jones

As I understand it, Disney's plans to reboot Indiana Jones are incredibly basic. All they've absolutely decided on so far is "Let's reboot Indiana Jones, someday." But that doesn't mean there isn't some experimentation going on, some daydreaming and chatting. Deadline capitalised on this a few weeks back by saying that the studio would like Chris Pratt to take the lead role and replace Harrison Ford. I'm sure they would, but there's a lot to be done before Pratt would have a real offer to consider. In their follow-up report, Deadline say that Steven Spielberg would like to direct the film. It's no surprise - he's proud of the series, and does feel some ownership. Moreso than, say, Jurassic Park, which was an adaptation of the novel by Michael Crichton. It bears repeating that there's an awful lot of work done before we'll see this film. There's definitely no script, and if there's even a basic idea, it's only been arrived at very recently. Whether or not Spielberg is involved, I'd be very surprised to see George Lucas come anywhere near this. Hopefully that means there won't be any trace of aliens, crystal skulls or nuke-proof fridges.
