Suicide Squad 2: Casting James Gunn's DCEU Sequel

4. Jai Courtney - Boomerang

Jai Courtney's Boomerang (no Captain here) was legitimately one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of the first movie. He actually seemed to be the only character who had any idea what sort of tone the film should be, for a start and he smashed all of the low expectations fans seemed to have for him.

Boomerang was an absolute riot and he's the kind of character you could actually see in Gunn's Guardians movies (though perhaps not as one of the titular heroes). He's also one of the most befitting of Gunn's Guardian loser mentality, since he spends most of the first movie playing the punchbag.

Courtney's got to see this as a positive step for his own career at this stage, so let's hope he gets the chance to bring the character back. And also that Gunn doesn't change a great deal about him.
