Suicide Squad: 8 Possible Spoiler Explanations For Batman's Role

4. To Be Taken Out By The Suicide Squad

Batman isn't going to die in Suicide Squad (he has a Justice League movie to star in after all), but there's every chance that the Caped Crusader will end up being Task Force X's target! He is after all a vigilante, and it's not hard to believe that the government would give Amanda Waller and A.R.G.U.S. the green light to take him down. Promotional materials for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have indicated that the people of Gotham City actually love The Batman, so the government wanting to take him out - just like in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, a story which has inspired this movie - makes a whole lot of sense. That would effectively make Batman the "villain" of the movie (similar to how comic book stories from the perspective of the Sinister Six have painted Spider-Man in that light in their eyes), and would arguably make Suicide Squad much easier to sell to moviegoers. Who Task Force X is put together to take out has yet to be revealed, so this is a very real possibility for the time being, even if it just ends up being one of their early (failed) missions.
