7. The Filming Process For Incubus

Incubus Film
Warner Bros.

Obviously, a character like Incubus requires a lot of effects work. According to Alain, filming took around 3 months (which is stunning considering how limited the time is that Incubus is actually on screen). But there's a reason for the time...

"In LA as I was sitting in a sphere built of hundreds of cameras they were telling me: You're sitting on the same chair that Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise sat on. I was like: I feel really important but I have no idea what we're doing right now!"

So how much motion capture was actually used? How much of that performance is Alain himself? And did he need to train specifically for the combat sequences?

"Lots of motion capture and scanning were done but as I was a stunt performer for years and also a Canadian Karate Champion there was no training required."

What Alain does know for certain about the effects process was what it meant to the team:

"I don't know the terms for all that technology but the guys at Sony Image Works were extremely excited about my character. After all they were going to work on it for a year!"
