Word on the street is that Will Smith is happy to be involved with his own superhero franchise, and is apparently happy to continue appearing as Deadshot for as long as they'll let him; which he wouldn't be able to do if his character, I don't know... died. Coupled with December's rumour that the character will be making an appearance in the Affleck-led Batman movie (which will ironically be fairly crowded, for a solo Batman story), well - it wouldn't make any sense at all if he died in Suicide Squad. That said, it would be a decent third act twist to have the biggest name on their marquee heroically sacrifice himself for the cause he started the movie not believing in; perhaps all the hype and rumours about the character is a smokescreen to prevent us from seeing that Deadshot will most likely be a dead man in a few scant months. That's doubtful, though.
