Said to be on the team acting as Rick Flag's "bodyguard" within the movie, and if you stop and look at certain portions of the Comic-Con trailer, Katana is clearly battling her own personal demons. As far as the comics are concerned, that crazy soul-sword of hers happens to hold the spirit of her dead husband, and it's not outlandish to assume her arc in the film will take that into account. Feeling the need to atone for her husband's death - if that's even alluded to in this film - could see her making some sort of noble sacrifice, but the likelihood is still slim. As one of the few true heroes of the piece, David Ayer is more likely to keep her around. Or does that make her more likely to die?
