Suicide Squad: Ranking All 11 Characters Revealed So Far

1. The Joker

Jared Leto The Joker
Warner Bros.

A controversial point to make, perhaps, but even if Warner Bros tone down the comic reference tattoos and unveil a less juggalo-like version of the Joker in the next round of publicity reveals, what they've shown so far is exciting.

They should never have tried to compete with either Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger, and while some will no doubt bleat about the obviousness of their swerve of past versions, that's exactly what happened with Ledger. So you can't really have it both ways.

Leto looks good as a wholly new take on the Joker. If, as rumour suggests, he is going to be an entirely unstable element (deemed too dangerous to actually participate in active field duty and used more as a consultant), it makes sense for him to look so jarring.

There's nothing here that should scream Worst Version Ever, and appreciation doesn't depend on being some intoxicated fanboy. In light of some of the other character reveals, you should be thankful of this Joker, no matter how many added filters he goes through.
