Suicide Squad: Ranking The Characters By Anticipation

6. Amanda Waller

Played By: Viola Davis. Who's Viola Davis? A stage and screen actress who's been steadily working for the last two-plus decades, appearing in films like The Help, Doubt, Get On Up, and Prisoners. As of 2014, she's been leading the cast of ABC's How to Get Away with Murder, which is currently in the midst of its second season. Over the years, Waller has made the leap from the comics to film, television, and video games, all to varying degrees of memorability. Angela Bassett played her in 2011's Green Lantern film; she's been a recurring character on shows like Smallville and Arrow; and she's been voiced by a number of actresses in animated projects, most notably by CCH Pounder. Considering how good Pounder has been in the role over the years, many were lobbying that she'd finally land the live-action version of the character, so it was somewhat surprising when Davis was cast instead. Fortunately, though, Davis has more than proved herself as an actress, and her interest in the character - coupled with the intensity needed to bring Waller to life - will hopefully leave fans with an interpretation of the character they'll want to see more of.
