Suicide Squad Trailer: 20 Best Internet Reactions

Mamma Mia!

Despite the reveal of new Batman V Superman footage and a first look at Wonder Woman, it was their deranged, dangerous sibling who stole the majority of the Internet's attention yesterday. It was bold, it was colourful, it was... everything the first tease leaked from Comic Con sort of wasn't. No wonder DC and Warner Bros didn't want it to be released. Instead of Batman V Superman's poe-faced, sombre approach, David Ayer has brought an anarchic, youthful exuberance and injected the kind of humour that has been missing from the Batman movie franchise since Joel Schumacher went too far the other way. If nothing else, this should be a lesson to DC that films can be cartoonish, action-oriented AND funny all at once. Imagine that. Inevitably, the fan reaction online was swift and very vocal, with the trailer - mostly - sounding the horn on the hype train as it crashed out of the station, ran over the station master and stuck its fingers up at everyone on the platform.
Here's the best and most important reactions to the first real trailer...

20. There Was A LOT Of Love

http://imgur.com/gallery/VxvvGL4 Shocked or otherwise, the over-riding feeling online - particularly from comic book fans and industry commenters - was of amazement. The trailer is stunningly well put together: a triumph of editing and good decisions that didn't rely on revealing way too much. Inevitably, like Kevin Smith, some likened it to the Guardians Of The Galaxy (not least because of the exceptional use of music in both trailers). And for DC, that's a hell of a positive comparison. http://imgur.com/gallery/GrvYUsy
