14. The Sparks Brothers

Edgar Wright makes his documentary directorial debut with this ludicrously entertaining portrait of legendary pop-rock band Sparks, who after over 50 years in the business remain one of the industry's few true original acts.

Despite their success, though, Sparks haven't ever really received the thorough mainstream attention they deserve, and so Wright's film attempts to shine a light on everything that makes them so special - namely their totally singular sound and the personalities of band member brothers Ron and Russell Mael.

Despite clocking in at almost two-and-a-half hours and speaking extensively with both the brothers and a multitude of fawning subjects, The Sparks Brothers' superbly judicious editing makes it feel positively snappy.

The Sparks Brothers is awaiting distribution.
