Super Bowl 2019: Ranking Every Trailer From Worst To Best

9. Captain Marvel

Twilight Zone Jordan Peele
Marvel Studios

The new trailer for Captain Marvel shown at the Super Bowl sadly pretty much falls into the same category as Hobbs & Shaw; it's a well-made piece of advertising but doesn't really show us anything we haven't already seen in prior trailers.

In the case of Captain Marvel, this is a slightly smarter move though. Following Infinity War's post-credit scene, the anticipation and buzz surrounding this film are already practically deafening, so a spot simply reminding audiences that it's coming relatively soon to theaters and that they can now buy tickets serves a greater purpose here.

Also, having already gotten several full-length trailers for the film, not releasing much new footage is probably a wise call. The trailers thus far have done a great job of selling the mystery and mystique of the film, without giving much away. With that in mind, this spot more than serves its purpose while also giving fans another look at the eye-popping space-set action sequences.
