Superman: Ranking All Lois Lane Performances - Worst To Best

2. Teri Hatcher - Lois and Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman

Even though Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is often ridiculed for its extreme focus on the relationship between the title characters and its cheap, syndicated look, one thing that you've gotta give the series is its desire to be a great Superman show. It may have lacked the proper budget, but you can absolutely see the producers trying their best to make the greatest Superman show of all time. And one way of doing that is to cast someone like Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane. She may have lacked the toughness of Coates, but she made up for it in sheer volume of character. The writers of the series focused the spirit of the character, layering all the different aspects of her personality into one. She was strong, but she had very real feelings and emotions. They weren't petty, silly things, but things we all feel and relate to. You felt a personal connection with Hatcher's Lois, as she was perhaps the most organic and human of all the incarnations. Her chemistry with star Dean Cain was also worth noting, as it also worked beautifully. You could definitely buy into the fact that these were just two people thrown together, forming a solid and unbreakable bond of companionship. Hatcher's soft, gentle touch of grace and Cain's boyish charm made them a perfect pair. After four seasons, the show took something of a steep nosedive into the silliest of silly story lines, but one can never forget how absolutely brilliant Teri Hatcher was as Lois Lane.
