batman-the-dark-knight-revient-salle-3d-L-2 If not Bale or Levitt than the entire recasting of Batman feels disgraceful to the supporters of these big budget epics. Take a look at the recent reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man and its Achilles heel. Outside of retreading mainstream folklore of the superhero, it was just too soon for a new Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire was replaced as an admittedly sub-par embodiment of the character and the rushed nature of everything still felt reasonably distasteful. Replacing Christian Bale who just finished off portraying arguably the greatest cinematic Batman we have ever been blessed with and probably ever will be blessed with feels like an even crueler insult. Merely 3 years after The Dark Knight Rises is too soon to replace a legendary embodiment of Batman. I sincerely hope Levitt signs up for this project not because he screams Batman to me (he truthfully does not accounting for his scrawny stature) but it would be easier to accept in terms of plot progression and alleviate some of the continuity pressures from Snyder and Goyer.
