8. John Hamm
Why He Could: John Hamm is a man's man; women want to be with him, and men want to be him, as exemplified by the success and popularity of his cigar-smoking, whiskey-chugging Don Draper on AMC's Mad Men. The guy exudes cool; he's tall, extremely handsome, and has a voice that will sound right at home coming out of the cowl. Hell, he's even got an awesome chin, easily the best of anyone on this list, which would give his Batman plenty of character even with most of his face obscured.
Why He Won't: At 42, he's likely too old for the role, especially given the rumour that Warner and Snyder are looking for a younger actor to fit the bill. Nevertheless, if they ever decide to adapt The Dark Knight Returns straight-up - which features Bruce Wayne at age 55 - then Hamm might be right for the role in a few years.
