2. Ben Affleck
Now I love Ben Affleck (He was the bomb in Phantoms), and to be even more controversial, I really enjoyed Daredevil when it came out too! Call me a 'Marvellite', blind comic book nerd, or just plain wrong, but there were things I loved about that movie back in the day, and thus Im one of the new people who actually thought yeahokay! when Affleck was cast as Bruce Wayne. The problem however, does not come from what Affleck can do or represents, instead it is what he is not, i.e. Henry Cavill. I could be completely wrong about Afflecks ability to get anywhere near the dominating size of Cavill, but in every role weve previously seen him in, even Daredevil, he didnt exactly exude a dominating physical presence. Whilst that could entirely be the point, being Cavills Superman should be the most imposing and unmatched specimen in the galaxy, what were dealing with is meant to be a fight that goes beyond sheer physicality, forcing each combatant to delve deeper than they ever have before to take on their greatest foe. To truly take the audience there, you have to start out with both opponents looking just as ready for battle as the other, and I guess we'll continue to wait and see if Affleck can pack on enough muscle to don the cape with justice.
