Sylvester Stallone: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Rocky Balboa - Rocky (1976)

I don€™t care what most people think, Rocky is a better boxing film than Raging Bull. There, I€™ve said it, and you€™re welcome to punch me in the face if you disagree. Whilst Bull is hard edged, tragic and beautifully shot, Rocky is about the side of getting the bejesus thrashed out of you that I love €“ it€™s about an underdog, and as such has me punching the air more times then €“ well €“ Rocky punching the air. It's about the little guy, or rather, the little big guy. Probably the most parodied film in history too, and referenced in the magnificent song "Montage" from Team America World Police, it€™s like finely cut parmesan €“ deliciously enjoyable, perfectly formed cheese. Oh, and Rocky 2 is just as much fun. Altogether now..."ADDDRIIEENNNEEE!" Ok, so that's my fave five. Turn the page if you want reminding of the flipside. And bear in mind, I could only choose 5...

I'm a Westcountry exile now living in Yorkshire with lovely wife and cats (also lovely). I'm a big fan of films, robots, timetravel, and films about timetravelling robots, as well as lots of other action, sci-fi and comedy. I'm currently trying to write a sitcom that doesn't involve robots, and I also blog nonsense on timolsky.blogspot.com. Thanks for taking the time to read my stuff, and feel free to comment.
