There's a 1981 movie known as
Taps which is set to get the remake treatment according to
Variety. The strange thing is I've never heard of the movie, but just look at some of the names that appeared in it...
Tom Cruise,
Sean Penn,
George C. Scott and
Timothy Hutton. The movie was directed by
Harold Becker and it revolved around a group of loyal military cadets who took extreme measures to insure the future of their academy when it was threatened by local condo developers. Sounds extremely boring if you ask me. God knows why they want to remake this.
Frank E. Flowers is the guy who will be writing and possibly directing this new take on Taps. No, I don't know who he is either, but this is what he told the trade about his remake...
"The political climate and the psyche of the country make it an exciting time to tell that story...When you are at war, kids are forced to make decisions normally reserved for adults, like fighting for your country and standing up for what you believe in."
At least it's a remake which shouldn't anger anyone. Anyone seen this movie Taps?
