Terminator: Dark Fate – 7 Big Things We Learned From The Trailer

2. Mackenzie Davis Plays A Human-Terminator Hybrid

There has been a lot of intrigue surrounding Mackenzie Davis' role in the film. From everything that we knew before, it appeared that the character she is playing, Grace, was going to be one of the many humans to pop up, and yet the markings on her skin suggested she could actually be a Terminator. Well, it turns out that she's both, apparently.

In the trailer, Sarah Connor remarks how she's "never seen one like [her] before" just as we get a flashback to the character's naked arrival in the present (another Terminator trademark). However, Grace then informs her that, despite her super strength and the fact that she's impossibly durable, she is actually human.

A human-Terminator hybrid might seem like a new idea (to this timeline anyway), but it isn't the first time that the franchise has got down this route, with both 2009's Terminator Salvation and 2015's Terminator Genisys offering their own original versions of them (the latter using John Connor to do so). Will the third time be the charm, or perhaps more importantly, does the franchise actually need another hybrid?
