1. A Final Tribute To John Connor

And the final scene of the movie includes two obvious homages to some of T2's most distinct iconography.

For starters, Sarah and Dani visit a young Grace as she's having fun in a playground, which immediately prods memories of Sarah's horrifying nuclear apocalypse nightmare from T2 (which also takes place in a playground).

Then there's the very final shot of the film, which shows Sarah and Dani driving away from a distinct-looking suburban neighbourhood bearing an incredible resemblance to the street where John Connor's foster home was situated.

Though there's no indication that the Dark Fate production actually returned to T2's original shooting location for the shot - that's Valerio St in Winnetka, California - it's clearly a visual homage to where John spent much of his tragically curtailed life.
