Terminator: Genesis - 10 Things You Need To Know

8. Jason Clarke Is John Connor

Though details on the plot itself are thin, therefore making it difficult to speculate how John Connor will fit into the storyline, it's been reported that Jason Clarke - probably best known for small roles in both Zero Dark Thirty and The Great Gastby - has been cast in the role of John Connor, the man who will lead the uprising against Skynet's artificial intelligence in a devastated future Earth. He takes over from Christian Bale, of course, who put in a fine (but somewhat over the top performance) in Terminator Salvation, which was released all the way back in 2009. The most memorable John Connor so far, of course, was played by Edward Furlong in James Cameron's amazing Terminator 2: Judgment Day. But whereas Furlong was just a kid, Jason Clarke is 44, suggesting that his scenes will be separated by the span of time - enough for us to speculate that he won't share any scenes with Emilia Clarke, anyway, but will presumably feature in plenty of scenes with Jai Courtney, the man tasked with protecting Sarah. Clarke hasn't got A-list status or anything, but there's no reason why he won't be able to make John Connor great.
