According to reports, there are also plans to make a Terminator TV series that will directly tie-in to the events of the movie, set at a "critical moment from the first Terminator film (1984) and where the film's story goes one way, the upcoming series will take the same moment in a completely different direction." Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who worked on The Sarah Connor Chronicles, are set to write and produce the series - one that will influence and will be influenced by things that happen in Terminator: Genesis. It could make for a highly interesting expanded franchise. There's little more information regarding this aspect of the new film at this time, but given the success behind The Sarah Connor Chronicles, we can probably expect good things from a tie-in series, given that it's set to be developed by the same people. Going by what we do know, though, it almost seems like the associated filmmakers are looking to build a world that resembles that of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, paving the way for characters to go between the realms of TV and film, thus expanding the canvas. Whether it will work for The Terminator... who knows?
