Terminator: Genesis - 10 Things You Need To Know

2. It's Planned As The First In A New Trilogy

Whilst Salvation was originally supposed to begin a new trilogy of movies in the Terminator franchise, production issues prevented that from ever happening - so here we are with Genesis, five years later, which has been purported as the first movie in a mapped-out trilogy. According to reports, all three films are going to be shot back to back in 9 months, which sounds like something of a financial risk, but is certainly not unheard of. Whether or not this will change remains unseen, but it's probably unlikely that the studio will commit to a three films in one go. Isn't it? Firstly, it's important to consider that 9 months doesn't seem like very much time to shoot a whole three movies, though granted if the story is to be set in and around the same locations, it's certainly a feasible accomplishment (it's not like our heroes are going to end up in Indonesia for an entire segment, is it?). The fact that the studio seem confident enough to want to shoot all three parts at once, however, looks to be good news for fans: there's no way that anybody would go ahead with three pictures unless they were totally sure what they had was good enough.
