8. Seeing The Time Machine In Action
After four movies worth of talking about it, we’re finally peeking behind the curtain and bearing witness to the time machine.
What really inspires hope about seeing how time travel operates here is that we’re seeing the future in a way that we haven’t before. We’ve seen the desolate wastelands, and humans fighting machines against an explosive sky, so if they’re going to set part of the movie in the future again, it’s encouraging that they’re going to show some new stuff while they’re at it.
In that vein, the trailers have also hinted at seeing a Terminator factory or warehouse of some sort. And while areas like the factory and time machine can sometimes kill the mystery behind the franchise, they can also provide justification for why we’re seeing certain chunks of the film, giving answers to long-held questions rather than just reliving the same future battle sequence we’ve seen before.
