7. "Pops" Gets A Job In The Apple Store

Like all good machines, Pops validates his existence on his ability to adequately perform a function. Prior to the conclusion of the film, these objectives were limited to 1) Protect Sarah Connor and thus 2) Ensure the survival of the human race.

With Skynet finally defeated the only real threat to the human race is itself, and all Sarah Connor needs protecting from will be an emotionally gruelling season finale of her favourite TV series. Thus a new purpose in life must be found for him. He alluded to having a job on a building site while waiting on the pair to reappear, but that was mission-specific, and not necessarily the best use of his talents... plus he got fired, apparently.

But what possible use could there be for a mindless, emotionless automaton, who is obsessed with technology, has a hazy insight into the future, and has all the social capacity of a fridge with a smiley face drawn on it? Make him a floating lackey in the Apple Store. Obviously.

"The iPhone 5S is an obsolete design. The 6 is faster, more powerful, and more intelligent. It's a far more effective communication device... Come with me if you want the extended warranty".
