Terminator Genisys: 18 Stupidest Moments In 2015's Dumbest Movie
9. That's Just NOT How Ageing Works At All
As the film builds to its conclusion and Sarah, Pops and Kyle attempt to take down both Genisys and Robo-John, they encounter the personified Genisys (or Skynet as it becomes abundantly clear), represented by a sickly earnest child.
The conceit of the climactic set-piece is that as the system matures, its launch time jumps forward and the sprite child visibly ages until it turns out to be adult Matt Smith. This happens within the final 21 hours before launch, and the first jump takes the clock to 14 minutes, while the child ages to young teenage, and then to 8 minutes when he turns into a young adult.
It's not until the final moments that he matures fully, as if ageing would work in such an arbitrary fashion: childhood dominating 99% of the system's maturing process until adulthood all rushes in at 11.59pm. It's just dumb.
