Terminator Genisys: 18 Stupidest Moments In 2015's Dumbest Movie

10. Sarah's Identity Crisis

Terminator Genisys Sarah Connor
Paramount Pictures

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the decision to cast Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor. She's a rising star, captures that intangible watchable essence that real stars need and she has the Game Of Thrones fanbase to help draw in an established audience.

Unfortunately, sending her to work with a very poor script was never going to lead to a great performance, and having her go through ridiculous personality transplants throughout the film was even more fatal. There's a big difference between a narrative arc and schizophrenia, and Sarah's evolution from gun-toting bad-ass to foot stamping grumpy teenager is very much more of the latter.

She drifts between the two depending on how the scene around her, pushing her lip out at the idea of her destiny (which she planned for a decade for) and flirting awkwardly with Kyle. She's hardly the Furiosa-like redo we were all led to believe she might be.
