THANK GOD Spider-Man & Han Solo Didn't Cast Chandler Riggs
He would've been a CORRRALLIAN.
Chandler Riggs is on his way out of The Walking Dead, but his career could've been very different had a couple of auditions gone the right way.
Riggs, speaking to ComicBook.com, has revealed that he's already looked at breaking into the big movie business, and that - as rumours suggested at the time - he did indeed audition for the role of Spider-Man for Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as the part of Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story:
“I auditioned for Spider-Man. I auditioned for Han Solo, all those big movies. I would love to do something like that. It would be awesome, especially now that I have a lot more free time, it would be really, really cool.”
At 18 he's at least in the right bracket for the MCU's teenage Peter Parker, as eventual Spidey Tom Holland is only 21, but would've been a much younger Han than Lucasfilm went with, as he's a decade younger than Alden Ehrenreich.
Although it'd be nice to see Riggs do well in his career after such a long stint on The Walking Dead, there's reason to be thankful he didn't land either role. Holland is absolutely perfect as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man and, while the jury is out on Ehrenreich, it's even harder to imagine Riggs in the role. While he's had to learn on the job and has improved over time, he hasn't given the kind of performances that suggest he could lead such a major franchise movie.
Riggs currently has sci-fi movie Only and crime thriller Inherit The Viper on the horizon, but it'll be interesting to see how his career progresses.
