10 Biggest Box Office Bombs Of 2015 (So Far)

4. Seventh Son

Box Office Flops Hardy Kunis Depp
Universal Pictures

Estimated Losses: $85m

Seventh Son was a movie that everybody knew was going to be a box office bomb long before it was released; the literary adaptation was originally set for release in February 2013, but didn't hit theaters in the United States until a full two years later.

Despite a cast that features Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Olivia Williams, Alicia Vikander and Djimin Honsou, Seventh Son is an incredibly boring movie, that is as conventional as big-budget fantasy movies come. Although it does boast some decent CGI, Sergei Bodrov's $95m feature is beset with overacting, laughable dialogue and a mountain of genre cliches.

The movie could only open in fourth place at the domestic box office with a weak $7.2m debut, and wrapped up its run with just $17.2m. Although Seventh Son fared much better overseas, earning $93.4m, the lengthy post-production process and marketing costs have industry analysts projecting a total loss of around $85m for the long-delayed project.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
