10 Biggest Things The Hunger Games Movies Have Left Out
8. Peeta Skipped His First Kill
The character of Peeta has perhaps suffered the most in his adaptation from page to screen. His characterisation has got stronger as the movies continued but one of his pivotal moments in The Hunger Games was cut entirely. In both the book and the film, Peeta temporarily teams up with the Careers (a group of ruthless and highly professional Tributes) in order to secretly protect Katniss. In the book, this leads to him killing a District 8 Tribute (after she's weakened by the group). This killing doesn't make it into the film version, meaning that Peeta is able to finish his first Hunger Games with no blood on his hands. It's an unfortunate decision for the character and the filmmakers rapidly course corrected in the second film.
