10 Biggest Things The Hunger Games Movies Have Left Out
4. President Coin Isn't An Obvious Maniac
Julianne Moore was excellent casting for President Coin. The producers decided, somewhat refreshingly, not to age down the 50ish Coin and Moore was styled in such a way that she closely resembled the book's description. However, her personality in Mockingjay- Part One is almost unrecognisable from the book version of Mockingjay. She is a quietly commanding presence in the film, behaving in a mostly even, if gently forceful way. In the book, she is openly vain and arrogant, so her Machiavellian machinations were not completely unexpected. This may be a case when the film serves a character better by allowing Coin and her motivations to remain enigmatic for longer.
