New York has become the go-to location for countless movies that want to trash the hell out of buildings and landmarks over the years. Alien invasions, natural disasters and countless other sub-genre attacks have made an absolute mess of the Big Apple. Cloverfield, Escape From New York, The Day After Tomorrow, Aftershock: Earthquake In New York, the Spider-Man movies, Ghostbusters, Deep Impact, I Am Legend, King Kong and Daylight are just a few examples of movies that have seen destruction in New York and The Avengers added to that huge list with its unoriginal setting. While Avengers: Age Of Ultron will undoubtedly have some scenes set in NYC - it is, after all, where the titular team are based - it needs to move the action away from the city to avoid becoming part of an extremely repetitive Hollywood trend. This is one problem that Age Of Ultron definitely looks to be rectifying; the heroes are set to visit Europe, Asia and Africa as the villainous titular robot goes global in his attempts to forge his distinct idea of world peace.
