The Avengers 2: 5 Racially Diverse Avengers We Need To See

2. Photon

Yay, another female Avenger! Finally! Also known, well at least initially as Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, aka Photon or Pulsar eventually became the leader of The Avengers. A black, female Avenger who is the team€™s leader would definitely go some distance in allowing Marvel films to have some defense against people who call their films racist, wouldn€™t it? Born in Louisiana, she was a cargo ship captain. In trying to prevent a dangerous weapon from being created, she was exposed to extra-dimensional energy. After this, guess what, she gained superpowers! Her superpowers are definitely interesting and would be a good, helpful addition to the current line-up. She can convert her body into any form of energy with the electromagnetic spectrum, as well as being able to absorb and manipulate energy to her will and often appears invisible in many of her energy forms. Also, something which could fit in well with the more cosmic, otherworldly direction The Avengers sequels are going, she can also travel at the speed of light while in energy form and can also travel through the vacuum of space. Perhaps these powers are arguably too great and unbelievable for an Avengers sequel set in a more realistic universe, yet her powers are certainly interesting, and perhaps when battling Thanos, arguably much-needed. Plus, good news for Marvel; including this character could kill two birds with one stone, her being female and also non-white and all. However, I really think Marvel should try a little harder than that. One non-white character and one female character isn€™t really enough. Still, she looks kinda cool and it would definitely be an interesting choice.

I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
