The Avengers 3: 5 Marvel Heroes and Who Will Play Them

4. Ms Marvel

Ok Ok€ go ahead and call me a hypocrite. In my post just days ago I stated that Ms. Marvel was one female superhero I didn€™t want to see in the role€ but it appears a lot of you, in fact most of you do, and considering I am not the person making these decisions for Marvel, whether or not I think she would be good for the films is beside the point. This is probably (other than Wasp) the most likely female Avenger to appear in the films who we have yet to see. Also, since writing my post, I have to admit, I have changed my mind somewhat about the character. Major Carol Danvers, an officer in the US Air force is caught in an explosion of a Kree device, and is saved by the Kree hero Captain Marvel. Her genetic structure melded with Captain Marvel and became a half human, half Kree hybrid, capable of great strength, speed, energy absorption and protection and flight. She could easily go toe to toe with the other Avengers and would be (ok, I admit it) a kinda good, but nevertheless VERY likely new addition to the team in the sequels. Who Will Play Her: Claire Danes. (I bet you€™re glad I didn€™t say Sarah Michelle Gellar). Critically acclaimed by pretty much everyone and the winner of three Golden Globes, Claire Danes not only looks the part (really really), not only would suit the casting ideals (critically acclaimed actors instead of blockbuster, popular ones) of the Marvel movies but has proven success leading and being part of an ensemble (see My So Called Life if you haven€™t already). Plus, she is kind of the actress of the moment (Homeland) and probably won€™t stick her nose up at a part in this popular franchise seeing as she has appeared in other science fiction films before (Terminator 3, Stardust). If not Claire, Naomi Watts would be interesting, and also fits Marvels casting model. She also auditioned for the role of Catwoman in the Nolan film, but lost out, so you know she wouldn€™t be opposed to taking an iconic superhero role.
