The Avengers Vs. Avengers: Infinity War - Which Is Better?
14. Pacing
Unsurprisingly, neither of these films are short movies. The Avengers clocks in at 143 minutes, but in large part due to the novel appeal of seeing this collection of superheroes brought together for the first time, it absolutely flies by.
While Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) imprisonment might feel a tad overlong on rewatches when you know what's coming, overall Whedon does marvellous work lingering on the right moments and knowing when to speed ahead.
Similarly, Infinity War is highly enthralling for most of its 149 minutes, though it's fair to say the movie is sometimes a little too breathless and frantic for its own good, rushing through early character iterations and team-ups because, somewhat understandably, there's so much to cram in.
Winner: Neither disgraces themselves here, but The Avengers wins out because it never once feels rushed or in a hurry to race to the main event.
