The Batman: 10 DC Comics Villains Perfect For Matt Reeves' Sequel
8. Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy)
Environmentalism has been a growing interest for people all over the world in recent years. Exploring the idea in a Batman film would be an interesting undertaking.
Pamela Isley's desire to protect plant life is an understandable motive that is easy to get behind. However, her worldview does become problematic in that she values the environment more than human beings. This has potential to set up a convicting gray area for a film to be based on. Humans are major players in the destruction of the environment, so it is hard to dismiss Isley's worldview entirely.
In order to keep the story grounded, the filmmakers would have to do away with Pamela's ability to control plant life. However, there is plenty of room for mischief stemming from her skills with toxicology. Plant-based poisons could be used to sicken or kill people Isley views as enemies of the environment. Billionaire Bruce Wayne would likely be a target due to his lavish lifestyle.
