The Batman: 10 DC Comics Villains Perfect For Matt Reeves' Sequel

3. Basil Karlo (Clayface)

The Batman Court of Owls
DC Comics

Clayface is one character that does not easily fit into the style the filmmakers have created for The Batman.

A man who is made of clay and can transform into anything he wants is well out of the realm of possibility in our reality. However, there is still a way to make the character of Basil Karlo work in a grounded and gritty take on Batman.

Karlo was an actor who played widely varied roles throughout his career. If presented in the film as a master vocal performer and mimic, he could be teamed up with makeup artists and prosthetics makers to assume the roles of prominent figures from Gotham. Under these guises he could upset the establishment and wreak havoc in Gotham. The World's Greatest Detective himself could even be fooled by Karlo doing an impersonation of James Gordon, or anyone Bats trusts for that matter. There is also the possibility of fooling the audience. It would add an exciting level of mystery to the film.

Tracking down Basil could be one of Batman's toughest on screen challenges yet.
